Comments:

Observer Jan ten Hoopen. All GPS positions of Lucanus observations were taken. All Lucanus were observed flying around or in tree crowns of common oak (Quercus robur): both solitary trees, tree rows and trees in the forest edge. 2 additional Lucanus males were observed flying around and in a tree crown (common oak) in the direct vicinity of the transect while heading back. Other species observed: European nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus) and Eurasian woodcock (Scolopax rusticola).
