Great night:
– counted over 40 individuals in two hours
– one-third of the 18 sightings within te timebox was female
– more spreaded sighting of flying beetles, not only close to the “hotspot”
– saw probably 4 species of bats chasing the flying beetles (3 different size/shape, one with quite different wing beat)
– saw two bats (probably Nyctalus noctula) grabbing a beetle, one was dropped the other was taken
– lots of small firefly’s to end this monitoring round
There were a lot spectactors, I hope there is video/foto material from the hunting bats
