Comments:
The stream bed reform continues and it appears that the entire surface of the ravine floor parallel to the stream has been plowed. Some of the pre-existing old logs have been relocated.
They worried me:
– effects on the larvae of Lucanus cervus and L. barbarossa when removing the first centimeters of the soil and the roots.
– that this facilitates a greater predation of the wild boars until the vegetation regenerates.
– the massive occupation of exotic flora in the area (Robinia pseudoacacia, Phytolacca americana, Ailanthus altissima, Araujia sericifera …) in the face of this disturbance.
A few days later I speak to the park’s technical services and they tell me that it has not been plowed but that the land extracted in the stream re-profiling work has been dumped, redistributing it in the area.
