Location: Barcelona in Spain
Name of surveyor: [96] [97]
Description:
Located in Collserola Natural Park, but near the neighborhood of Vallvidrera (municipality of Barcelona). The transect follows a path that runs along the bottom of an intermittent torrent with old specimens of oaks, holm oaks and pines, and with abundance of dead wood standing and on the ground. In recent decades and until 2 or 3 years ago, some Lucanus cervus have been observed in the area.
To help keep a steady pace during sampling, the sections of the transect are about 100 meters and are indicated with easily recognizable elements:
0m- the trunk of a living large stone pine
100m- old big trunk lying on the ground
200m- circular sewer cover
300m- bin at the height of ‘camí del Salze’
400m- clear at the height of the traffic signal, with a laurel on the right and a lime on the left
500m- staircase to the ‘revolt de les Monges’
